GOALS

• Our clients desired a multi-purpose room for their young kids to play and do crafts, but also for adults to hang out and watch TV.

• The room needed a fun, yet mature vibe, as it would be used for many years for all ages. 

​

• Must Have: A chalkboard wall 

​

• Must Have: A magnetic wall

 

• Must Have: A wall-mounted roll of craft paper

• The clients were overwhelmed with the number of inspiration photos found online. ​

​

• They were unsure how to incorporate magnet and chalkboard paint without it feeling sloppy or random.

​

• The space was large, yet oddly shaped. 

​

• The clients had limited time and limited budget to complete the project.​

​

• The clients were unsure how to blend various preferred styles of modern, bohemian, and industrial. 

• We highlighted the odd shape of the room by creating two areas: "create" and "lounge". 

​

• We designed and installed a wall with magnet and chalk areas separated by wood trim, making it easy for the toddler to understand the different surfaces. ​

​

• We installed a second wall for other crafts featuring a custom paper roll shelf. 

​

• We included unique DIY touches to stay on budget and to add more personalization. 

​

• For the "lounge", we created a design, shopping list and floor plan that blended the preferred styles.
